Many consider religion and politics to be "taboo" topics for we fear that we might offend people, especially our friends. Our beliefs about religion and politics fundamentally form the basis for our outlook on life. When our views do not line up with those of others, we have two basic choices. We can be silent and avoid conflict by ignoring the topic or we may choose to address our differences.
If we decide to converse about our basic beliefs the question then becomes one of why we hold to what we believe. This again is a matter of choice. Will we stubbornly defend our beliefs because they are ours and we refuse to acknowledge possible validity in what is presented by others because it threatens who we are? Or instead will we stand firm because we honestly believe our views are consistent with the truth no matter how we feel about it?
I hope by God's grace to adhere to the latter. It is very important to consider and understand why we believe what we do. However, this is a rather difficult and stretching task. Please be patient with me and others who are still practicing consistency in this.
I have been interested in evidences for Special Creation and Macro Evolution for some time. Through considering both scientific evidence and biblical truth I personally believe that the earth and life on it were created by God in a literal 6-day period.
There is a great deal of evidence to support Creation. Valuable information is available from Creation Science Evangelism and from the Institute for Creation Research.
Here are several scriptural references about Creation:
Genesis 1:1,
Exodus 20:9-11,
Isaiah 40:12-28,
John 1:1-5,
Colossians 1:15-17,
Hebrews 11:3
